KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Port Qasim has seized a consignment carrying perfumes and cosmetics being smuggled into Pakistan in guise of dates.
As per details, the consignment was imported in the name of an embassy of a gulf state declaring as consignment of dates. The customs officials examined it and recovered perfumes and cosmetics and other items that had to be cleared by paying the taxes levied on dates.
The customs officials after seizing the consignments contacted to the embassy that has denied any linkage.
It may be mentioned here that such kind of attempt was also made during last year which was failed.
