ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has once again increased power tariff by 52 paisa per unit on account of monthly fuel price adjustment despite a plunge in the price of furnace in the international oil market.

Nepra acting Chairman Habibullah Khilji took the decision during a public hearing. The power consumers will now have to pay Rs4.5 billion after this decision. However, the tariff hike would not affect the consumers of K-Electric and the consumers who use 50 units a month.
