KARACHI: It is revealed that imported consignments of scrap are being cleared without any examination process at Port Qasim Collectorate.
Sources told Customs Today that the clearance of scrap consignments are being conducted since 2008. The officials at the Port Qasim Collectorate are clearing the consignments by using FCLD. According to the Customs Act, it is necessary to examine the consignment of scrap through LCL .
Sources further told Customs Today, despite numerous complaints, the deputed officials at Port Qasim Collectorate are avoiding taking any action against persons involved in these illegal activities.
