Sources claim clearance of scrap consignments without examination

KARACHI: It is revealed that imported consignments of scrap are being cleared without any examination process at Port Qasim Collectorate.

Sources told Customs Today that the clearance of scrap consignments are being conducted since 2008. The officials at the Port Qasim Collectorate are clearing the consignments by using FCLD. According to the Customs Act, it is necessary to examine the consignment of scrap through LCL .
