PRA cracks down on  unregistered hotels, guesthouses

LAHORE: A team of the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has visited Murree and conducted raids against unregistered hotels and guesthouses. The team warned the owners of unregistered hotels and guesthouses to get them registered at the earliest.

Sources informed Customs Today that on the request of Hotel Association Murree, PRA has given a 20-day deadline to the owners of unregistered hotels and guesthouses to get their registration certificate from the PRA and immediately start paying sales taxes, otherwise their premises will be sealed.

A detailed meeting was held in the office of Assistant Commissioner, Murree in which Hotel Association of Murree has assured their full cooperation with PRA and committed to use its authority to bring its members in sales tax net. PRA will establish a facilitation counter at Assistant Commissioner’s office Murree to guide and facilitate the businessmen who want to get their hotels or guest houses registered.

Punjab Revenue Authority will take coercive measures against non-compliance of its deadline given to the owners of hotels and guesthouses at Murree, after 20 days.
