LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has issued Sales Tax notices to a number of restaurants located in different posh areas of Lahore and Faisalabad.
Various PRA teams, under the supervisions of additional commissioner Enforcement, took action against those restaurants which were reluctant to pay tax on their heavy sales. The authority has issued second notices to all the restaurants.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab Revenue Authority has started installing monitoring system aimed to enhance the revenue of the provincial exchequer. It has also started a prize winning scheme to convince the masses for demanding sales tax invoices from restaurants.
Sources said stern action will be taken against those restaurants who will be found involved in tax evasion practice.
