PRA marks new history with record recovery of Rs 4.4b in July

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has set record by recovering Rs 4.4 billion taxes in July as compared to the same period of last fiscal year.

According to sources, during one month after the announcement of  the federal budget for the fiscal year of 2015-16, the PRA  has increased its revenue from Rs 600 million to Rs 4.4 billion which is a new milestone in the history of the authority. Recovery in one month stands at more than 7 times higher than the same period of the last fiscal year.

Sources further said that this huge increment in collection of taxes is only because of better planning of the government and developments in some sectors of the national economy. According to sources revenue has increased because of the development in the field of construction, manpower, information technology. cargo sector, auto workshops and hotels.

Punjab Revenue has installed a new software in restaurants as well to keep check on sales and services of the posh area restaurants.
