PRA scrutinising record of bank transactions made by Nespak

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has started scrutinising the record and bank transactions of Engineering Service Pakistan (Nespak) for last three years.

According to the sources, PRA has got record of Nespak adding that it has not paid any sales tax during last three years despite making huge transactions to the tune of millions of rupees during the said period.

After completion of investigation, the PRA will assess the total amount of taxes, which will be received from the company. Nespak is one of the largest and one of the leading engineering consultant management organizations in Asia and Africa and maintains a good international reputation. It is funded by the Government of Pakistan with the assistance of international funding agencies.

It may mention here that PRA has authority to receive sales tax on services after Finance Bill of 2012 but during last three years Nespak has not paid taxes.
