LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has cautioned that business establishments may be sealed in cases of unjustified delays or non-payment of due taxes. The warning was issued during a departmental meeting chaired by PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra, where officials reviewed enforcement and registration measures.

According to the PRA, instructions have been issued to ensure that no provincial or federal institution issues licenses to any business entity that is not registered with the Authority. The meeting further discussed proposed amendments to existing tax laws, with the legal wing directed to forward recommendations to the Law Department for consideration.

The session also evaluated sector-wise performance and revenue recovery targets. Officers were directed to achieve collection goals across 11 additional sectors by November 14. The PRA will upgrade its monitoring dashboard to allow real-time tracking of registered businesses and tax submissions across the province.

Chairman Sipra emphasized improving the capacity of divisional enforcement officers through online training programs. He also ordered an intensified recovery campaign against businesses that collect sales tax from customers but do not remit it to the Authority.

It was decided that business premises of defaulters or those delaying payments without valid justification will be sealed. The chairman reaffirmed that all businesses must effectively utilize the Electronic Invoice Management System (EIMS) to ensure transparency and accountability in tax collection.
