KARACHI: Customs Preventive’s Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized large quantity of smuggled betel nuts, cigarettes and gutka on Super Highway.
On a tipoff received by Collector Preventive Dr Iftikhar, the ASO staff led by its Deputy Collector tightened the monitoring. During the course, the suspected Hino truck was spotted, the checking of the vehicle resulted in recovery of 60 cartons of Dunhill cigarettes worth Rs2.4 million, 84kg Safina gutka worth Rs630,000 and 12.4 tons of betel nuts Rs3.03 million.
