Prices of cigarettes increase by 15% in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO: Prices of cigarettes increased between Rs. 5 to Rs. 10, a 15 per cent increase, with effect from this morning.

The cigarette manufacturing tax was increased by 5 rupees recently. Accordingly, a spokesperson for the CTC noted that the price of a most popular cigarette will be 50 rupees.
