Professional tax record to be computerised to broaden tax net: Mujtaba

LAHORE: Excise and Taxation Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said the record of professional tax will be computerized to expand professional tax net and remove the flaw in system.

He stated this while presiding over a meeting at the office of excise secretary. Excise Secretary Ali Tahir, director general and other officers were present on the occasion.

Mujtaba was briefed that record of professional tax will be computerized by using the computerized record of property tax. He was also informed that 20 circles have been formed in Lahore and property dealers, petrol pump owners and doctors will be focused, in this regard.

The minister directed the meeting to ensure tax collection and achievement of the target. He said that officers achieving target of tax collection will be awarded prizes and promotions. He said that no negligence should be shown in tax collection and the target should be achieved in time.
