KARACHI: The Post Release Verification (PRV) Cell of the Model Customs Collectorate-MCC of Appraisement (West), while following the directives of the Collector Muhammad Saleem, has recovered an amount of around Rs 140 million in December 2014 by detecting record number of short recovery cases.
The cases included total 50 in which the importers were involved in mis-declaration of value, non-application of correct valuation rulings, mis-declaration of PCT, mis-using of SROs and mis-using of classification in clearing their consignments.
According to details, the PRV Cell has recovered an amount of Rs539099 from M/s Al-Ameen Services on non-application of valuation ruling; recovered an amount of Rs1,548,782 from M/s Khawaja Woolen on mis-declaration of PCT/value; recovered an amount of Rs2,37,676 from M/s Paramount Chemicals on non-application of Valuation Ruling on import of Glycerine.
The PRV Cell with the teamwork has succeeded to recover an amount of Rs104513 from M/s Ajwa Industries on mis-declaration of value on import of Refined Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs234,603 from M/s Hattar Steel re-rolling on mis-declaration on import of Silico Manganese; recovered an amount of Rs73,319 from M/s Nova Leather Pvt Ltd on import of Formic Acid; recovered an amount of Rs5,228,433 from M/s Marvi International on mis-declaration of value on import of LED Lights; recovered an amount of Rs3,05,047 from M/s Zafarani Creation on mis-declaration of PCT on import of LED Lights; recovered an amount of Rs38,068 from M/s Efroze Chemicals on mis-declaration of value on import of Aluminum Printed; recovered an amount of Rs2014,407 from M/s Hilal Confectionery on mis-declaration of value on import of Cocoa Powder.
The PRV Cell has recovered an amount of Rs114,528 from M/s Anjum Corporation on mis-declaration of value on import of Polyester Yarn; recovered an amount of Rs234,085 from M/s Moxie Traders on mis-declaration of value on import of Foam Cups; recovered an amount of Rs624,365 from M/s Zafa Pharmaceuticals on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs83,466from M/s Good Luck Hosiery House on mis-declaration of value on import of Yarn; recovered an amount of Rs493,566 from M/s M B Dyes Chemicals on mis-declaration of value on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs185453 from M/s A R I Traders on import of Glycerine.
The PRV Cell has also recovered an amount of Rs35,123 from M/s Aamir Corporation on mis-declaration of description on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs155,843 from M/s Berger Paints Pakistan on mis-declaration of PCT/Classification on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs427327 from M/s Shalimar Foods on mis-declaration of Menthol; recovered an amount of Rs305714 from M/s Adamjee Plastics on mis-declaration of value of PVC Stabilizer.
The PRV Cell recovered an amount of Rs108103 from M/s Hilal Confectionery on mis-declaration of value of refined Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs217716 from M/s Medisave Pharma on non-application of PCT classification on import of rubber stopper; recovered an amount of Rs237172 from M/s Power Chemicals on mis-declaration of value on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs48713 from M/s K A Enterprises on mis-using of PCT on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs45696 from M/s Silver Corporation on mis-declaration of description and PCT on import of Glycerine; recovered an amount of Rs107249 from M/s Hilal Confectionary on mis-declaration of value on import of Glycerine.
The PRV Cell has also recovered an amount of Rs72269 from M/s Kolachee International on import of mineral oil; recovered an amount of Rs180903 from M/s A & R Forwarding Ltd on import of Aluminum Kitchen Ware; recovered an amount of Rs428039 from M/s Jass Brothers on import of Aluminum Kitchen Ware; recovered an amount of Rs435498 from M/s Zafar Enterprises on import of tyres; recovered an amount of Rs227785 from M/s Thal Limited on import of Partical Board; recovered an amount of Rs523951 from M/s Nishat Mills on import of Energy Saving Lamps and recovered an amount of Rs287446 from M/s Al-Hilal Packaging Limited on import of Polythene Grade.
The sources informed Customs Today that Collector-MCC Appraisement (West) Muhammad Saleem has expressed his satisfaction over the recovery done by the PRV Cell in the month of December-2014 and asked the authorities concerned to continue their same zealous efforts in recovering the revenue through detecting violation of Customs Act, 1969.
