KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange shed the early gains till midday as the benchmark 100-index dropped 178 points to reach 40282.54 points level on Thursday.
Earlier, the stocks recouped with 232 points to reach 40693 points level in early trading.
On Wednesday, panic selling was witnessed at the PSX and market continued its steep decline during the initial hours of yesterday’s trading session, making an intra-day low of 1,246 points.
However, buying in heavyweight stocks during the latter hours resulted in recovery in the KSE 100-index as it closed at 40,461 points after losing 655 points. Volume leaders during the day were ASL, PKGP, KEL, BOP and CWSM, making up 24% of the total market activity during the day.
