KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed bearish trend on the last trading day as benchmark 100-index lost 274.02 points to close at 39464.65 points level on Friday.
The stocks recorded the highest trading level of 39755.63 points and lowest level of 39432.18 points, with the volume of about 32.91 million shares and value of 12.59 billion. As many as 383 companies were active; of which 146 advanced, 216 declined and 12 remained unchanged.
Dewan Cement was the volume leader with 38.70 million shares, gaining Rs 1.01 to finish at Rs 21.94. It was followed by Byco Petroleum with 28.16 million shares, gaining Rs 0.41 to end at Rs 26.46 and K-Electric with 19.19 million shares, losing Rs 0.14 to close at Rs 8.98.
The top three gainers were Rafhan MaizeXD with price per share of 7600 (100), Nestle PakistanXD with price per share of 7500 (90) and Murree Brewery per share of 1334.69 (60.48).
The top three losers were Bata (Pak) with price per share of 4000.01 (-99.99), Sanofi-Aventis with price per share of 874.01 (-44.88) and Ferozsons (Lab) per share of 811.71 (-42.72).
Earlier, the PSX lost massive 237 points till midday to reach 39498.63 points level.
On Thursday, the PSX benchmark 100-share Index fell 0.18 percent or 70.91 points to 39,738.67 points. The highest index of the day remained at 39,899.75 points while the lowest level of the day was recorded at 39,722.82 points. KSE 30-share Index decreased 0.49 percent or 110.03 points to 22,555.25 points. Turnover rose 15 million shares to 365.62 million shares. Trading value increased to Rs13.72 billion from Rs11.40 billion. Market capital fell to eight trillion rupees from Rs8.01 trillion. Out of 444 companies, 226 ended up, 203 closed down and 15 remained unchanged.
