KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Friday remained almost flat till midday and lost -1.04 points to reach 32800.84 points level.
The stocks recorded the highest trading level of 32861.93 points and lowest level of 32777.11 points, with the volume of 42.13 million shares, having about Rs1.63 billion value. As many as 236 companies were active; of which 99 advanced, 119 declined and 18 remained unchanged.
The three top traded companies were Sui North Gas with a volume of 7,554,000 and price per share of 25.70 (0.56), Dewan Motors with a volume 3,525,000 of price per share of 9.82 (-0.07), TRG Pak Ltd with a volume 2,591,500 of price per share of 27.35 (0.00).
The top three gainers were Nestle Pak with price per share 6700 (300), Unilever Foods with price per share of 5300 (200) and Island Textile price per share of 780 (20.01).
The top three losers were Service Ind.Ltd with price per share of 830 (-34), Colgate Palmo with price per share of 1460 (-29.99) and Siemens Pak. per share of 717 (-29.75).
Earlier, the Pakistan Stock Exchange started trading with positive note as the benchmark KSE-100 gained 51 points to reach 32852.77 points level in early trading.
On Thursday, the stocks declined for the third consecutive session amid thin trade. The KSE 100-share index lost 126 points or 0.38% to close at 32,801.88 points. Dull trading was witnessed at the local bourse yesterday as traded volumes fell 35% to 86.4m and traded value declined by 27% to Rs4.6b/$44m. Bearish momentum continued in automobile sector stocks as Honda Car (HCAR), Pak Suzuki (PSMC) and Indus Motors (INDU) fell in the range of 0.7-1.7%, stated researchers a major brokerage. Total 323 active companies participated in the session of which 179 closed in decline, 212 in advance while 23 remained unchanged.
