KARACHI: Started with huge gain of 254 points on Thursday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) again lost all the points and closed almost flat. The PSX lost 14.21 points to drop to 30751.80 points level at closing.
The stocks recorded the highest trading level of 31029.17 points and lowest level of 30705.53 points, with the volume of 13.58 million shares, having over Rs7.68 billion value. As many as 321 companies were active; of which 158 advanced, 137 declined and 26 remained unchanged.
The three top traded companies were TRG Pak Ltd with a volume of 14,264,500 and price per share of 25.49 (-1.34), K-Electric Ltd with a volume 12,401,500 of price per share of 6.99 (-0.03), and MapleLeafCement with a volume 6,776,000 of price per share of 82.87 (0.64).
The top three gainers were Siemens Pak.XD with price per share 857.82 (39.82), Island Textile with price per share of 723 (33) and Murree Brewery price per share of 853.12 (29.22).
The top three losers were Ferozsons (Lab) with price per share of 1064.67 (-36.09), Sapphire Fiber with price per share of 602 (-30.70) and Highnoon (Lab) per share of 509.24 (-17.12).
Till midday, the KSE-100 index recouped some overnight losses by gaining 142.45 points to reach 30908.46 points level.
On Wednesday, the stocks closed lower amid fall in global equities and commodities, as the PSX bench mark KSE-100 shares index tumbled 326.60 points (down 1.05) to settle at 30766 points. Traded volume decreased by 31% to 106m shares, while traded value decreased by 15.6% to Rs7b/$69m. Out of total 311 traded companies in the session, 208 closed in decline, 87 in advance while 16 went unchanged.
