PTA launches website to promote education

ISLAMABAD: With the aim to promote education in the country, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a website ‘www.smartpakistan.pk’, which will serve as a store and directory of mobile applications.

The Smart Pakistan initiative will also allow software developers to design inventive and new applications such as games and health and education programs and upload them for its subscribers.

Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and local developers to come forward with new ideas and applications for entertainment, education and communication purposes, PTA added the purpose of this project is to promote mobile applications and services relevant to Pakistani society and encourage operators.

It will also bring all stakeholders such as citizens, government, mobile operators, OEMs, international organizations, academic world, mobile entrepreneurs and others on one platform to build work on newer software technologies.

In a statement by PTA, “This website will serves as a starting site for web users and will open links to other sites.”
