LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department of Punjab has launched a new system of vehicle registration which is very easy for vehicle owners for registration of their vehicles.
Additional Director General Excise Masoodul Haq informed Customs Today that after launching of this project, owners of new vehicles would get registrations and number plates from dealership at the time of purchase. He said that new system will promote the standard and will facilitate the vehicle owners.
The Excise and Taxation Department, with the collaboration of Punjab Information Technology Board and the National Bank of Pakistan has started project of motor vehicle registration through auto sale points.
The Punjab government has eased the motor vehicle registration process by waiving the requirement for visiting the Excise and Taxation Department office. Owners of automobiles can now get their vehicles registered at dealerships.
Excise and Taxation Department will also train the dealers in the use of software for this purpose.
