SIALKOT: Executive District Officer (EDO) Finance, Shuja Qutab Bhatti said that the Punjab Finance Department was working hard to bring people and various sectors into tax net.
Shuja said about 60 sectors have been included in the purview of tax net in Punjab whereas about 22 new companies have been registered. He said that the Finance Department has made a plan to set up computerise system for collection of taxes.
The first priority of Punjab government was to improve economic status of the province, he said, adding that the government will fix handsome amount in fiscal year budget 2016-17 for this purpose. He said that the finance department collected almost 40 percent more revenue during first 10 months as compare to collection of last year. He said that the government will bring untaxed sectors into tax net.
