Punjab govt to enact new laws for better performance of ACE soon: Nadeem

SIALKOT: Additional Director General Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab Nadeem Sarwar has said the Punjab government will soon promulgate new laws for increasing the performance of the ACE.

He stated this while talking to the newsmen at Anwar Club Auditorium Sialkot after holding an open court on Friday.

Additional DG of ACE Punjab Nadeem Sarwar said all the official work on these new ACE laws has already been completed due to which these new laws would be promulgated soon, probably before the end of year 2017.

Nadeem said the government is modernizing the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) with a sole aim to uproot the corruption from the government departments and ensure early justice to the people by using the advanced technologies as well. He said the ACE has also started taking suo-motu notices of the corruption in government departments across Punjab and it is a very big step taken by the Punjab government to eliminate corruption on the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

He said necessary long-term and short-term training of the advanced skills has been started for the junior and senior officials of the ACE.

Nadeem Sarwar opined that the active cooperation of people and media is vital for weeding out corruption from the government departments.He said the ACE has also adopted a policy to appreciate the performance of the honest government employees and officials besides encouraging them at every level. He said the ACE has started working to explore black sheep within the ACE and they would also be brought to task in this regard.

Earlier, Additional Director General ACE Punjab Nadeem Sarwar held an ‘open court’ in the Anwar Club Auditorium. He listened to the public complaints against various government departments and issued on-the-spot orders for early relief for complainants.

Regional Director ACE Gujranwala Fareed Ahmed, Deputy Director ACE Sialkot Muhammad Waseem Akhtar, Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Dr. Farrukh Naveed, ADCG Sialkot Meesam Abbas, senior police officials and district heads of the Nation Building Department were also present.
