LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to provide smart phones to five million small farmers to educate them on the modern farming techniques.
In an interview on Sunday, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Chairman Umar Saif stated that these phones would provide useful information to the farmers.
He further said that the phones would also be used for the provision of interest free loans.
PITB chairman added that a database of small farmers was being finalised in this regard.
