Punjab Police using 700 token tax defaulter vehicles

LAHORE: The Punjab Police has not paid token tax of the vehicles, which are being used by different units of in Punjab, it is learnt.

An official of Punjab Excise and Taxation Department told on anonymity that there were more than 700 vehicles in Punjab which are token tax defaulter and those vehicles are being used by the Punjab Police.

Punjab Excise has written many notices to Punjab Police but no response has been received due to which excise was facing huge loss in wake of recoveries, he said. Lahore motor branch now has approached the high officials in transport section of police to receive default amount, which is more than Rs 3 million.

On other hand, many other departments are also failed to pay their token tax including, agriculture department, irrigation department, revenue board and Sui northern.
