Sindh BoR officials directed to put special emphasis on revenue collection

KARACHI: The newly-appointed Senior Member of the Board of Revenue (BoR) Sindh, Muhammad Rizwan Memon, convened the first meeting of the revenue officers at his office the other day.

During the meeting, Memon directed the BoR officers to put special emphasis on revenue collection. He said that the revenue collection in share of capital value tax (CVT), registration, stamp and revenue record should meet the revenue target, which was set by the provincial government.

The BoR senior member further said that the revenue collection for the fiscal year 2015-16 should be enhanced and all possible efforts be made to surpass the revenue target for the ongoing fiscal year.

The Board of Revenue-BoR collected Rs 8,009.52 million during the fiscal year 2014-15 in share of CVT, registration, stamp and revenue record against the target of Rs10,904.58 million.

The BoR senior member announced that regular meetings regarding the revenue status would be held fortnightly.
