PVTC providing assistance to deserving destitute: Ahmad Hasan

FAISALABAD:  Best possible vocational training in traditional as well as modern trades is imperative to root out the menace of unemployment, said Ahmad Hasan Chairman Board of Directors (BoD) of the Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC).

Chairing the introductory meeting of newly constituted BoD of PVTC here, he said that Faisalabad is the major industrial hub of Pakistan. The presence of industrial units is attracting maximum unemployed youth from the surrounding districts in addition to accommodating the local workers.

He said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has brightened the chances of new industries in this area and PVTC has to expedite its efforts to produce maximum number of trained workers which could be accommodated in new industrial units.

He said that being engineer, he intends to improve the quality of training so that our trained workers could be accommodated in local industrial units in addition to exporting them to the other potential international markets.

He also underlined the need for focused approach to achieve the set targets and said that he expects the same approach form the local PVTC staff.

Earlier, Muhammad Rafiq Area Manager PVTC gave a detailed presentation and told that there are more than 4000 students in 15 institutions managed by PVTC in Faisalabad district. He said that these institutions are imparting training in 74 different trades to the students with qualification from primary to secondary level.

He further told that Punjab government provides funding to PVTC out of Zakat and Usher fund to pay the fees of the deserving destitute.

The meeting was also attended by the principles of local PVTC institution in addition to the members of BoD including Inam Afzal Khan, Miss Quratul Ain and Madam Shama Hasan.
