Quetta ASO seizes drugs, heavy bikes’ engine worth Rs 21m

KARACHI: Quetta Customs Collectorate has seized non-duty paid engine of heavy bikes and drugs during two successful raids.

According to details, Deputy Collector Jhanazaib Abbasi received information a huge quantity of heavy bikes’ engine were smuggled to out of city and smuggler have a plan to supplied these engines to Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas and Vehari. Consequently, the deputy collector informed the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) to curb the smuggling. Comprising a team by deputy collector included Inspector Rheel Ali Kahn, Inspector Whab Kazmi, Asi Shamim Aftam and others. The ASO established check points and started the checking of vehicles. During the checking of the vehicles the ASO officials intercepted a suspicious truck. While the searching of the truck the team found 22 engines of heavy bikes’. The team seized the engine while three persons were arrested during action. The ASO officials told that the estimated value of sized engines is more than Rs1.5 million.

In another action Quetta Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized a huge consignment of drugs. The Customs officials received information about the smuggling of drugs. The ASO team formed check points at the exit point at the city and haled a vehicle. During the search of vehicle the team recovered 200 kilo grams chars. The passengers of the vehicle said that we booked this vehicle for our wedding ceremony and we don’t know about drugs. The ASO team impounded the vehicles and drug. Customs officials told that the market value of sized drug is more than Rs 20 million.
