Quetta Customs I&I seizes non duty paid goods, vehicles worth Rs42.98m during October

QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations  Quetta seized large number of smuggle items include non duty paid cigarettes, hundred carton of plastic dana, 16 non duty paid luxury vehicles, electronic items, digital cameras, kitchen accessories,  computer accessories, hashish and so many other things worth Rs 42.98 million in the month of October.

Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations seized non-duty paid Italy made juicer blender and air conditioners (split)  worth Rs 5.50 million.

The sources told that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta Iran Javed received creditable information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non duty paid air conditioners (split) and juicer blenders from Quetta to Karachi and Thatta.

He immediately constituted a raiding team. The team enhanced the vigilance on the Noshki Road and started a search operation of vehicles. During the search, the team intercepted a truck bearing registration no: GL-992 registered of Gwadar, which was heading out of the city.

During the checking, the customs team recovered 60 non duty paid air conditioners (split) with complete accessories and 90 Italian juicer blenders worth Rs 5.50 million. Customs team seized all items and arrested two smugglers who were boarded on vehicle and were later identified as driver Gul Rehman and another Sajid Khan.

Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations registered FIR against smugglers, in initial investigation smugglers said they want to go to Karachi and Thatta.

Earlier Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations seized non-duty paid movies, cameras, watches, imported perfumes and electronic accessories worth Rs 7.8 million.
