Quetta Customs impounds non-duty paid heavy bikes

KARACHI: The Collectorate of Customs Quetta has impounded smuggled heavy bikes and arrested a suspect.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Quetta Jahanzeb Abbasi received secret information that some smugglers had parked smuggled bikes in a godown. He directed deputy collector to constitute a team. The customs team raided a godown which was located in Kharan Somai area and recovered four heavy bikes from the godown. The Customs team also recovered some spare parts of other vehicles during this raid.

The Customs team seized the bikes and registered a case of smuggling against accused persons. The market value of the recovered bikes is Rs 1.2 million. The Customs team also sealed the godown and started investigations in this regard.

It is necessary to mention here that customs authorities already speed up their efforts to curb smuggling attempts in the region and they are getting positive results on their efforts.
