Quetta Customs Intelligence confiscates dried fruit, vehicle worth Rs 4m

KARACHI: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Quetta seized huge quantity of smuggled dried fruits, besides impounding a truck being used for the transportation of smuggled items worth Rs 4 million.

Following the directions of Quetta Customs Intelligence Director Iqbal Bhawana, a team intercepted a Mazda Truck at Chaman road and recovered two thousand kilogram American almond, one thousand kgs apricot from the truck.

The team asked the driver to produce the documents showing the legal import of the item but he remained failed therefore, the officials confiscated the items under customs laws.

Meanwhile, the Customs Intelligence also confiscated over 60 illegal number plates from a yellow cab while searching the vehicle thoroughly. The cases have been lodged against the accused persons separately.
