Quetta Customs Intelligence confiscates electronics, truck worth Rs 4m

KARACHI: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Quetta, while foiling a bid to smuggle electronics has seized items along with offender truck worth Rs 4 million.

Following information, the Customs Intelligence team established a picket on Virdak Road under the supervision of Deputy Director Inamullah Wazir and checked vehicles to curb smuggling attempt.

During the checking, the officials intercepted a truck and recovered a huge cache of electronics, including 20 laptops, 50 DVD players and 100 tablets.

The driver was asked to show documents regarding the legal import of the items but he remained fail to produce the same; therefore, the official confiscated the items, besides impounding the truck under the customs law.

The driver has been arrested, while further investigation is underway.
