QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations Quetta seized a number of white plastic Dana (Powder) bags worth Rs07million.
Sources told reporter that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Iran Javed received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle a huge quantity of white plastic Dana from Quetta into Afghanistan.
He immediately constituted a raiding team. The team enhanced the vigilance on the Quetta Highway Road and started a search operation of the vehicles. During the search, the team intercepted a truck bearing registration No: PGH-2392 of Peshawar, which was heading out of the city.During the checking, the customs team recovered 150 bags of white plastic Dana worth Rs07million.
The customs team seized all the bags of plastic Dana and arrested two smugglers involved in the trafficking. They were later identified as drivers Asif Rizwan Khan and Sanaullah.During the initial investigation, smugglers said they want to go to Afghanistan Torkham border to deliver the seized item.
