KARACHI: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has impounded an oil tanker filled with smuggled Iranian petrol worth Rs 900,000 in Quetta.
Following information regarding the smuggling of Iranian petrol, the Customs Intelligence team under the supervision of deputy collector conducted raid and intercepted the oil tanker near Khorgi and recovered 18,000 liters of petrol.
The team asked the driver to show documents regarding the legal import of the petrol but he failed to do the same; therefore, the customs officials arrested the accused person besides confiscating the petrol along with oil tanker.
Meanwhile, the Customs Intelligence during another action seized 150 bottles of perfumes and 100 cans of beer from a van, which has also been impounded.
