Quetta Customs Intelligence seizes 22,000 liters Iranian oil

KARACHI: Quetta Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized a huge quantity of Iranian fuel during a successful action.

Director Customs Intelligence Imtiaz Ahmed Khan received information that a huge quantity of Iranian oil was smuggled through an oil tanker. Consequently, he sought the Deputy Director and informed him about the given information. Deputy Director comprising a team a team including, Inspector Shah Wali Ullah Khan, Inspector Noshad Khanzada and some other staff members. The team formed check-points in the area of Dozan and started the checking of vehicles. During the checking of vehicles the officials intercepted a truck. While the searching of the truck the team found 22,000 liters Iranian diesel. Customs Intelligence officials asked the Driver about customs clearance documents but he remained failed to produce any documents related to customs-duty clearance.

The team seized the oil and arrested two persons Afsar Khan and Sarfraz Khan and filed case against them. Custom Intelligence officials said that the estimated amount of seized oil is more than Rs1.3 million. The team also impounded the truck which was used in smuggling and approximately value of the truck is 5 million.
