Quetta Customs Intelligence seizes plastic granules, moulding machines worth Rs 3m

KARACHI: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Quetta confiscated more than 100 sacks of plastic granules and four moulding machines worth Rs 3 million, besides arresting four accused persons.

On credible information, the intelligence staff established pickets at all exit points of the city to foil the smuggling bid. The officials meanwhile intercepted a container for checking, which led to the recovery of plastic granules and moulding machines.

The officials asked the drivers to show documents regarding the recovered items, but he failed to do the same; therefore the items were confiscated under the customs laws.

During interrogation, the accused person revealed that the recovered items were being smuggled to Afghanistan.
