KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has recovered a huge quantity of smuggled goods during March.
Sources informed Customs Today that the customs intelligence team started crackdown against smugglers and seized smuggled items worth millions of rupees. Sources said that during a general hold-up, the customs team recovered 50 fake number pates from a vehicle on Mir Ali Road.
It is pertinent to mention here that customs authorities recovered goods amounting to Rs 260 million during the month of March, which include smuggled Iranian diesel, fine quality charas, plastic beads, luxury vehicles, smuggled whisky, non-duty paid cigarettes, heavy generators, computers LEDs, and other goods.
Sources said that Collector Saeed Jadoon has instructed the staff to use all resources to curb smuggling in the region.
