KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta recovered smuggled items worth Rs 340 millions during two months of current year.
Sources informed Customs Today that all these items were seized during the months of January and February, 2016. Seven accused persons were also taken into custody during crackdown against smuggling. Seized items includes Iranian diesel, petrol, plastic crush, generators, narcotics, foreign origin cloth, non-duty paid cigarettes, dry fruits, illegal number plates of vehicles, and other items.
Sources said that Director General Customs Intelligence during a meeting directed all concerned departments to speed up their efforts to curb smuggling activities in the region.
