Rs 10.6b smuggling: Customs Court approves bail plea of accused

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs taxation and Anti Smuggling Lahore has approved bail plea of the accused Saeedul Haq who was arrested from Gujranwala in smuggling case.

According to sources of Customs Today accused Saeedul Haq was arrested by the Customs Intelligence Gujranwala who recovered huge quantity of smuggled goods from a truck which was being unloaded at his warehouse in nearby area of Gujranwala city.

Customs Intelligence recovered clothes, shoes and other relevant items from the truck number IDT 3267. Sources told Customs Today that recovered items were smuggled from Afghanistan through Baluchistan. They were allegedly involved in smuggling of these items from long time and have made a huge loss to the national kitty as well. Earlier he was in jail on judicial remand after completion of investigation.

On Monday the Special Federal Customs Court has approved his bail plea and asked the investigation team to complete their prosecution soon.
