Quetta Customs recovers smuggled goods worth Rs100m from Satellite Town

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs anti-smuggling squad with the collaboration of FC  (North) raided a warehouse located at Achakzai Market Satellite Town and impounded smuggled goods along with the transportation vehicles worth Rs100 million.

According to sources Collector Yaqoob Mako received credible information that huge quantity smuggled foreign origin goods are dumped in different warehouses across Balocustan, Vinder city is the hub of warehouses housing smuggled goods.

He immediately directed to constitute an anti-smuggling squad to recover non-duty paid goods with the help of FC (North).

Sources told that as the borders with neighboring Iran and Afghanistan were closed, the flow of smuggling had reduced by at least 80 percent. Moreover, FC now has anti-smuggling powers and they are very active.

The ASO team along with FC personnel raided on a godown located in Vinder city and recovered huge quantity of non-duty paid goods from different godowns. The operation at Achakzai Market Satellite Town Quetta lasted for nine hours and recovered goods include fabric, cigarettes, betel nut, tyres, body spray, NCP heavy bike (Suzuki SV-1000), crystal menthol, thread, three Hino trailers and three containers.
