Quetta Customs seizes electronic items & accessories worth Rs7.50m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs team seized non-duty paid electronic items including non-duty paid juicer blenders, washing machines and other accessories worth Rs7.50 million including vehicle being used for smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today on Friday that Director I&I Muhammad Akram Chaudhary received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non-customs paid electronics items from Quetta to Karachi.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Salman Basheer and others. The team, during a search operation on the highway, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no MDG-44892.

During the search, the team impounded more than 300 pieces of juicer blenders, 200 automatic washing machines and different kinds of motor belts valued at Rs 7.50 million including truck being used in smuggling.

The team seized all smuggled items and arrested 3 smugglers. Sources said that customs officials started investigations from accused persons.
