Quetta Customs seizes Iranian diesel worth Rs5.5m during operation

 QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta confiscated Iranian origin diesel worth Rs 5.5 million including oil tanker.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Akram Chaudhary received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle Iranian origin diesel from Quetta into different cities.

He immediately constituted a raiding team. Team In-Charge, Preventive, Shams ul Hasan and others enhanced the surveillance on the Quetta Churangi and started searching vehicles

During the search operation, the team intercepted an oil tanker bearing registration No: GB-2547 which was going from Quetta to other cities.

During the checking, the customs team recovered 26,000 liters of Iranian diesel worth Rs 3 million. The customs team seized diesel and arrested three smugglers including driver, who were later identified as Feroz Khan, cleaner Mujahid and one unknown.

The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta registered an FIR against the smugglers and started investigations. The team seized the oil tanker used in smuggling and oil tanker worth Rs. 2.5 million.

Source told in the month of February Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta confiscated 78 thousand liters Iranian diesel.
