QUETTA: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations Quetta seized non-duty paid luxury vehicles and its tyres worth Rs 12.36 million.
Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Iran Javed received creditable information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non duty paid luxury Vehicles and its tyres from Quetta to different cities of Pakistan.
He immediately constituted a raiding team. The team enhanced the vigilance on the Quetta Highway Road and started a search operation of vehicles. During the search, the team intercepted a truck bearing registration no: PD-5623 registered of Peshawar, which was heading out of the city.
During the checking, the customs team recovered 2 non duty paid jeeps (1800 CC) and 60 non duty paid German made luxury vehicles tires worth Rs 12.36 million.
Customs team seized luxury vehicles and all tires and arrested 3 smugglers who were involved in smuggling later identified as driver Salman Ahmed Shams Keerio and one cleaner not identified .
Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations Quetta registered FIR against smugglers, in initial investigation smugglers said they want to different cities.
Earlier Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations seized non-duty paid Italy made juicer blender and air conditioners (split) worth Rs 5.50 million.
