Quetta Customs seizes non-duty paid goods worth Rs11m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs team seized non-duty paid imported helmets, heavy bikes front lights and other accessories worth Rs11 million including vehicle being used for smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today on 8 December, 2018, that Director I&I Muhammad Akram Chaudhary received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non-customs paid imported helmets, heavy bikes front lights and other accessories from Gwadar to different cities.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Kamran Khalid, Ziaur Rehman and others. The team, during a search operation on Kuchlak, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no GDF.8472.

During the search, the team impounded more than 500 non-duty paid imported helmets, 2000 heavy bikes front head-lights, clutch wires, seat covers and others valued at Rs 11 million including truck being used in smuggling.

The team seized all smuggled items and arrested a smuggler. Sources told that customs officials started investigations from accused persons.
