QUETTA: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations seized non duty paid air conditioners (split) and different parts of windows A/C commercial non custom paid molding machines and others things worth Rs 6.78 million on Wednesday.
The sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta Irfan Javed received creditable information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non duty paid air conditioners (split) and different parts of windows A/C commercial non custom paid molding machine and others things from Quetta to Karachi.
He immediately constituted a raiding team. The team enhanced the vigilance on the Mastung area and started a search operation of vehicles. During the search, the team intercepted a truck bearing registration no: KSF-872 registered of Karachi, which was heading out of city.
During the checking, the customs team recovered 16 non duty paid air conditioners ( split) , different parts of windows A/C and 8 commercial non custom paid molding machines worth Rs 6.78 million, Customs team seized all items and arrested 3 persons who were boarded on vehicle and were later identified as Sardar khan, Nisar ali and one no identified.
Sources told that the Customs Intelligence and Investigations confiscated ten commercial non custom paid printers and others computer accessories worth Rs 4.50 million on Thursday afternoon.
Its necessary to mention here that Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Quetta has launched a crack down against smuggled vehicles in October 2017 and seized 35 vehicles worth over Rs53 million.
