Quetta Customs seizes smuggled goods worth Rs5.85m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs team seized different kinds of medical accessories including blood and sugar test equipment and electronic wheelchairs worth Rs5.85 million including vehicle being used for smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today on 2.2.2019 that Director I&I Muhammad Akram Chaudhary received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non-customs paid different kinds of medical accessories including blood and sugar test equipment and electronic wheelchairs from Quetta to Karachi.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Kashif Bangash and others. The team, during a search operation on Highway intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no: TMD-0381.

During the search, the team impounded more than 2 thousand pieces of blood and sugar test equipment, and a large quantity of electronic wheelschairs worth Rs5.85 million including truck being used in smuggling. The team seized all the smuggled items and arrested three smugglers.

Sources told that customs officials started investigations from the accused persons.
