Rawalpindi Customs Court’s new judge to hear case of Ayyan Ali

LAHORE: Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan will assume the charge of the new judge of Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on May 25 and the first case he will hear will be of Ayyan Ali’s money laundering.

Rana Aftab Ahmad – who was working in Samundri, Faisalabad, as additional session judge – will hear the bail plea of Ayyan Ali that is being adjourned for the last three hearings.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued a notification to appoint Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan as judge of the Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Court on April 29, and after completion of his training on customs, he will assume the charge on May 25.

The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling is hearing the case of supermodel Ayyan Ali, and the case is getting more important as names of some political entities are being associated with this illegal transfer of currency through the celebrity.
