Rawalpindi Excise listing tax defaulters taking part in LB polls

ISLAMABAD: The Excise and Taxation Department Rawalpindi has started preparing lists of property tax defaulters who are taking part in local bodies elections.

Sources said that a number of people are participating in elections for the seat of chairman, vice chairman and councillors from different areas of Rawalpindi, including Rawal Town and Pothohar Town.

They added that record of all candidates will be scrutinised and the list of defaulters will also be sent to returning officers for taking legal action against defaulters.

The sources said that department was hopeful to recover property tax from tax defaulter candidates through returning officers.
