RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has shown grave concern on dengue spread in the city and asked district administration to address the issue on war footed. Addressing executive committee, President RCCI Malik Shahid Saleem demanded that free test, medicines and beds must be provided to private clinics and hospitals along with government hospitals.
He referred to media reports where it says that more than 2500 dengue cases have been reported in the twin cities, which is alarming. RCCI is ready to help district administration for awareness campaigns at all levels including College, University and business centers. He said RCCI is running state of the art dispensary and suggested that health department can use its premises for free dengue test and provision of medicines.
He informed that RCCI under its Glorious Rawalpindi project has already running clean and green campaign to make city clean and beautiful and urged business community to spread awareness among asses about the prevention and control about dengue fever.
An advisory has been issued to RCCI members to make business centers clean and dry, monitor possible mosquito breeding places mainly, water tanks, waste bottles, old tyres and other stuff where water can collect and stagnate, he added.
He also suggested to use modern technology and geo tagging for monitoring data collection of dengue cases.
