LAHORE: Justice Faisal Zaman of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday excused from hearing a case of appointments in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Petitioner’s counsel Azhar Siddique, in his plea, stated that 19 persons were appointed as deputy directors without following procedures and prior advertisements in newspapers. He alleged that these appointments were made on political basis while ignoring merit.
He urged the LHC to declare the orders of these ‘illegal’ appointments as null and void. However, Justice Zaman barred himself from hearing the case due to personal reasons. The file returned to Chief Justice Manzoor Malik for further directions.
