Regional Tax Office-II collects Rs 57,735m in March

KARACHI: The Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) has collected a revenue of Rs 57,735 million during the whole month of March 2016.

Additional Collector Ali Mumtaz informed Customs Today that Rs 31,560 million were collected under the head of sales tax, while Rs 26129 million as sales tax while Rs 46 million were generated through federal excise duty (FED).

It is pertinent to mention here that the RTO-II collected Rs 54,236 million during the month of February in which Rs 5,0918 million were collected under the head of income tax, Rs 3,213 millions were collected as sales tax, while Rs 42 million were collected under the head of federal excise duty (FED).

He said that RTO authorities are finalizng lists of defaulters and will start to take strict action against them in coming days. He said RTO already issued them notices asking them to clear the outstanding tax amount as early as possible to avoid further action. He said RTO authorities are taking every possible move to meet revenue target.
