KARACHI: The Research and Development of the Customs Collectorate Appraisement West has detected short realization of around Rs 1.5 million duties and taxes by M/s Eman Enterprises under FTO SRO 659(I)/2007.

According to details, Deputy Collector Group IV (Research and Development/AIB) Ghulam Nabi Kamboh has detected the short realization of duties and taxes on scrutiny of import data.

It is transpired that M/s Eman Enterprises imported 12 consignments of textile knitted fabrics and filed Goods Declaration claiming PCT Heading 6001.9290 chargeable to customs duty at 16 percent under FTA SRO 659(I)/2007.

Whereas, the imported goods are correctly classifiable under PCT Heading 6005.3200 chargeable to CD at 17 percent FTA SRO.

The wrong classification of PCT Heading in 12 GDs has resulted into short realization of taxes which is recoverable, sources said.

In this regard, DC Ghulam Nabi Kamboh has directed the Appraising Group to initiate recovery process from the importer.
