Rs 900 billion collection: FBR revenue grows by 14% in 5 months

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs 900 billion during July-November (2014-15) against Rs789 billion in corresponding period of 2013-14, showing a growth of 14 percent.

Gross revenue collection in 4 months showed that direct taxes collection was Rs329 billion in during July-November (2014-15) against Rs 266 billion in July-November 2013-14; sales tax Rs 440 billion against Rs 405 billion; federal excise duty Rs 58 billion against Rs 56 billion and collection of customs duty was Rs 107 billion in July-November (2014-15) against Rs 88 billion in the corresponding period of last fiscal.

During the month of November 2014, the gross revenue collection stood at Rs 179.763 billion against Rs 153.924 billion in November 2013. The FBR has paid refunds and rebates of Rs 4.662 billion during the month against Rs 2.2 billion paid in last November. The net revenue collection stood at Rs 175.101 billion in November 2014 as compared to Rs 151.712 billion during the same period last year, reflecting a growth of 15 percent.

The gross revenue collection during July-November (2014-15) amounted to Rs 934 billion against Rs 816 billion in the corresponding period of 2013-14. The FBR has paid refunds of Rs 34 billion during the period under review against Rs 27 billion in the same period of last fiscal. The net revenue collection stood at Rs 900 billion during July-November (2014-15) against Rs 789 billion in the same period of 2013-14, showing a growth of 14 percent. The revenue collection would further increase on compilation of final figures, sources added.
